• Normal User Account - User Accounts in Jamroom are the accounts that a "user" uses - i.e. it is the account that holds the User's log in name, password, and all of the other information available in the Users "Profile" link.  As the Master Admin, you can create and modify User Accounts from the Master Admin menu in the Jamroom Control Panel.

• Power User Account - a "Power" User Account is just like a Normal User Account, but has the added ability of creating X number of Artist Profiles (where X is a number that is defined in the Modify User screen for a Power User).

• Admin User Account - an Admin User account is just like a Normal User Account, except the Admin User account has access to ALL Artist (and Member) Profiles.  You can make a Normal User Account an Admin User Account from the Modify User screen as the Master Admin.

• Artist Profiles - often referred to as an "Artist Account", the Artist Profile holds the information about an a specific Artist (see details below).

• Member Profiles - often referred to as a "Member Account", the Member Profile holds information about a specific Member.  Member accounts are only available in the registered version of Jamroom, and are part of the Jamroom Bonus Pack.  Member Profiles do not have access to the following Jamroom Features:
  • Create Songs
  • Create Store Items
  • Create Vault Items
  • Create Event Calendar
  • Bandwidth Tracking
  • Create Videos (with Power Pack)
  • Artist Fans (with Bonus Pack)
  • Advanced Charts (with Bonus Pack)

• “Bob” is an artist manager for several groups and wants to create separate Artist Sites for each of his clients. Bob has a User Account created (with login “bob”) and then has three different Artist Profiless created within Jamroom - Artist One, Artist Two and Artist Three (note that if bob is a "Power User" he wil be able to create these Artist Profiles himself - otherwise the Master Admin will need to create the Artist Profiles). When Bob logs in to Jamroom, he will see that he has the ability (via the ‘Select Artist’ list) to choose between any of the three Artist Profiles he has access to. This allows him to work on any of the three Artist Profiles he chooses - uploading music, photos, etc. When he wants to switch to another Artist Profile he simply clicks on the “Select Artist” button, and selects the new artist. This makes the selected Artist Profile the “active” profile. Any new audio, video, photos, etc. that are uploaded will be linked with the selected Artist Account.

• “Dave” and “Laura” are part of a singing duo that both have User Accounts in your Jamroom. Both of their accounts have access to their associated Artist Profile. When either Dave or Laura logs in to your Jamroom, they will not see the “Select Artist” link (the Select Artist link only appears if the User Account is associated with more than one Artist Profile). Instead they will only be able to create and modify the media items that are in their Artist Profile.

• The user "Jim" has a User Account on your system, that is linked with a Member Profile called "Jim" - a Member Profile and User Account always have the same name, as a Member Account can only be linked to 1 User Account, and vice-versa.  Member Profiles can be thought of as "bare bones" profiles for User Accounts that want a log in for your Jamroom, but are not an Artist.  Member Profiles do not have access to the following items in the Member Jamroom Quota:
  • Create Songs
  • Create Store Items
  • Create Event Calendar
  • Bandwidth Tracking
  • Create Videos (with Power Pack)
  • Artist Fans (with Bonus Pack)
  • Advanced Charts (with Bonus Pack)

Since Jamroom allows multiple User Accounts to be linked to a single Artist Profile, and multiple Artist Profiles to be linked to a single User Account, it’s very powerful in allowing you to define who has access to your Jamroom.
