I purchased the flowplayer module today to replace the nova flash players.

After I installed the module,what I get appears different from what I expected the player to look like...Can you help me confirm that this is what jamroom is offering in the marketplace?

Click the play button on "Zsound Jukebox" and "Zvideo Jukebox" on this website

Is this the actual flowplayer?

nah, that looks like the 'jwplayer' to me.

Make sure your templates have

Code
player_type="flowplayer"

in the location where its called.

all the parameters are here:
"{jr_flash_player}"

I've never used the flowplayer, so was just checking it out now.

Did you do all the steps in the "Read Me" file for installation?

Quote:
Installation

* Upload all of the files in this module to your jamroom directory, so that the jrFlowPlayer directory is located in your jamroom/modules directory.
* Log in to your Jamroom as the master admin and go to the System Config -> System Modules section.
* Scroll to the bottom and enable the FlowPlayer module.
* Click on the "settings" button to the right of the FlowPlayer module.
* In your Marketplace purchase email, you will see the download code - enter that into the "License Code" field.
* Make sure the domain is correct for your site. NOTE: The FlowPlayer must be licensed for the proper domain or it will not function! So make sure you enter ONLY your domain name - no slashes.
* Save the settings - this will communicate with the Jamroom.net server and create your FlowPlayer License, which will automatically be saved for you.
* delete the jamroom/include/plugins/jrFlashPlayer/flowplayer.php script if it is on your system - it is an old version of the embed script that no longer works and will interfere with the module version if left in place.
* Once completed, you should be able to use the "flowplayer" player_type parameter with the {jr_flash_player} template function.

This is the code i'm using in the player_video_full .tpl template

Code
{jr_flash_player player_type="`$JAMROOM_URL`/modules/jrFlowPlayer/jr_flash_player" playlist_url=$play_url width=$smarty.config.video_flash_width height=$smarty.config.video_flash_height auto_play=$auto_play params=$FullScreen}

The code is similar for the player_audio.tpl.

However,If I use "flowplayer" in the code,I get a white screen instead.

Code

{jr_flash_player player_type="flowplayer" playlist_url=$play_url width=$smarty.config.video_flash_width height=$smarty.config.video_flash_height auto_play=$auto_play params=$FullScreen}

What version of flowplayer is it?
I was hoping the player looked this
http://flash.flowplayer.org/demos/plugins/flash/audio.html
http://flash.flowplayer.org/plugins/streaming/pseudostreaming.html

I believe that version is flowplayer-3.2.16.swf

I don't believe that is the version of the flowplayer offered in the module.

The the {jr_flash_player} function is the only thing setup for this module.

Jamroom4 FlowPlayer

The link at the bottom goes to the flowplayer being used. I've not used this module so I don't know what can or can't be done, but according to the overview for the module, you should be able to use Flowplayers code to get the functionality your looking for.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

OK ......thanks
Well i guess everyone is currently more focused on JR5 and it's modules.

Maybe someone could shed more light on it's installation and appearance.

After earlier visiting the flowplayer website,I had high expectations the player.I'm aware that the module was released in 2011 but i did not think that it would look like that.

try using channel_id= in the flash player instead of playlist_url=

so something like:

Code
 {jr_flash_player player_type="flowplayer" channel_id=$channel_id width=$smarty.config.video_flash_width height=$smarty.config.video_flash_height auto_play=$auto_play params=$FullScreen}

I tried the code in nova and at first it was like your first player, the jeroen one. then I activated the code as is outlined in the "Read Me" file and the player changed from the jeroen one to a white box that was trying to load something, but nothing came.

After checking out what the player was trying to play, there was no play list to play when using a channel and the playlist_url setup from player_video_full.tpl in nova. but after changing it to the channel_id the player played.

It looks very similar to the one your link points to, only black and white footer bar, not green.

I've just removed the module from the marketplace - it really should have been removed some time ago. If you'd like to get a refund on it shoot me an email at support [at] jamroom [dot] net. We do not have a commercial flow player license for version 3, so if you want the latest you will need to purchase a license from them an integrate it yourself.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your kind gesture
If it's ok,I can just get another useful JR4 module instead of a refund
