You would have to modify the player template CSS (i.e. jrVideo/css/jrVideo_player_dark.css) but be warned it will then look wrong for other videos, since not every video has the exact same aspect ratio.

I've tried editing CSS but nothing seems to change the video size. What class controls the video size.

its called 'aspect ratio'

--------
****
****
****
--------

is different to

-------------
*******
*******
-------------

I think what your wanting to do is convert the aspect ratio of the uploaded video into the size that fits your player.

Or possibly adjust the size of the player depending on the aspect ratio.

Or even stretch the video to fit the size of the player.

I don't want to the player to resize. I rather the video aspect ratio is converted or video to resize to the size of the player

Jamroom cannot convert the aspect ratio of the video - that requires cropping, letterboxing, etc, which is not supported. Sorry!

so are you saying there is no way to resize the video to fit the player? Are there is plans of supporting converting aspect ratio or is it possible to have some custom work done to achieve this or is it not possible in jamroom 5 at all. I don't remember have this issue in jr4. did jr4 support this?

No - there are no plans to change this, as what your asking for is not really technically feasible. JR4 worked identically in this regard. This is just how video sites work that need to deal with multiple video aspect ratios.

For example - here is a video on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYAsst2TxPk

that is a normal 4:3 aspect ratio, and you can see the black bars to the left and right of the video.

ok I understand what is going on now. The player is stretching to 100% width of div which is wider then the video causing the black bars on the side to be so big. now how can I make the video bigger with aspect ratio staying the same. I've tried to edit the css but have not found anything to makes the video size bigger

The aspect ratio will be bumping up on one of the dimensions.

In your case its not the width, so it is the height.

If you make the player taller you video will also get wider.
