** NOTE to Jamroom 1.1b4 users ***
Jamroom 1.1 is an easy upgrade - follow the directions as below, but there is no need to run the "upgrade.php" script.

Upgrading Jamroom from 1.0 (or 1.1 beta) to 1.1 is pretty easy, but requires 1 extra step now that some new Database tables/columns must be created. Here is how you do it -

*** PLEASE READ THESE STEPS CAREFULLY ***

1. If you have CUSTOMIZED any of the Jamroom template files (i.e. theme or rank template files) then make a COPY of those files that you have modified (backup copy).

2. Make note of any CHANGES you made in the settings.cfg.php config file, or additions you made to the categories.cfg.php or user_genre.cfg.php config files. (you may want to make a copy of these files in another location).

NOTE: It would not hurt to make a BACKUP copy of your entire Jamroom directory as well (and as a good practice).

3. unzip the contents of version 1.1 over top of your current Jamroom install.

4. edit or replace the files that you had previously modified with your backed up, modified versions.

NOTE: you will need to manually re-enter your changes into the settings.cfg.php file since there are new settings in there that MUST be there for Jamroom to work correctly.

5. Fire up your web browser and load the "upgrade.php" script: i.e.:

http://yourserver.com/jamroom/upgrade.php

6. Press the "upgrade" button and Jamroom will update your database for you to version 1.1.

7. Log into Jamroom - that's it - all of your bands, etc. should all be preserved and you should have no problems logging in.

Note: you can safely delete the "upgrade.php" script after running it as it is no longer needed.

Have fun with Jamroom 1.1 !!!

- Brian
