Hello Dev. Team,

I don't see any audio player/control in JR5. It seems that JR5 uses the integrated HTML5 audio player. It is a great feature but few things should be addressed here:

1) Compatibility:

What about visitors who will be using JR5 on browsers which are not HTML5 compatible? Will they be able to play the audio?

2) Player control bar/buttons/display

In our case, we will be publishing Conference and seminar recordings. Most of them are over 1 Hour length.

Using the integrated HTML5 audio player, it is impossible (at least what I think) to control the listing experience. No way to see the audio player progress bar, no way to jump/pull from one moment to another one within the same audio (i.e. jump from the 15th minute to the 41st minute)

3) Sharing Options

How to share to Facebook, Google plus etc, an audio being played using the integrated HTML5 audio player? How to like it (FCBK)? where to place the sharing button?

Beside the HTML5 audio player, I suggest the return of a visible audio player with all the features/bar/buttons like in JR4: i.e: http://demo.jamroom.net/Big_Concert_Band/?song=105

By the way, I don't see the download audio/video file option on JR5. Has the download feature been removed from JR5?

Thanks

Try it and see. Wink (you should see that the players have a flash fallback for non-html5 compatibility )

Sounds like your talking about the button player in the lists. Check out the audio details page for a more full featured player (with a clickable progress bar). If this still isn't to your liking, you can re-skin the player or replace the player. The current player by is http://www.jplayer.org/ but I've also tested it out with the yahoo player, mediaElements, and a bunch of others. jplayer is so far the best though.

The different demos of jplayer can be found here: http://www.jplayer.org/latest/demos/

Facebook and other social media sharing options are being handled via oneAll (http://www.oneall.com/) and powered by the jrOneAll module. It might not be setup yet, but there probably is a way.

Like this player:

Its still there somewhere, ive seen it before. Not sure if its a skin option or something from the modules, but there is a download button. (someone who knows where that is, jump in here please.)

Hi Michael,

Awesome!!! You have answered my questions. Thanks a lot.

The player on the following page ( http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/bodawg/audio/albums/fantsy-pants ) was exactly what I was talking about and looking for.

Just one small issue on the same page: Not all the audio progress bar area is clickable. You have to look for a specific point meaning adjust the mouse till you find a clickable area within the bar in other to click and move the bar left or right to back up or move forward. Is this a bug? I am running the Latest Google Chrome 27 on a PC.

I have checked on the demo page ( http://www.jplayer.org/latest/demos/ ) but i can't reproduce this small issue. The audio player on their page is working just fine . You can click and move back/forward from anywhere within the progress bar.

Also, why isn't there any audio Player on the audio page? i.e. : http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/bodawg/audio/14/smoothe-biscuit

Thanks

test with the demos on the jplayer.org page. The jr demo is more than likely not up-to-date with development.

Even better is to setup your own system and help us find bugs. That would be appreciated.

There is on my dev site. Just a demo site issue.
