I get this page error" ERROR: dbConnect() unable to connect to database server "localhost"
MySQL error 2002 - Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11)"

what does this mean and how do i fix it?

Sounds like something is up with your mysql server - I would check with your hosting provider about it.

i did and they told me "We suggest you to contact your programming team and ask them to optimize
the code so the connections to the database doesn't reach the maximum.
The programmer must close all unnecessary database connection."

If you are using a shared hosting provider, they might set the max_connections value for mysql for mysql relatively low so that one site doesn't bring the server down. Jamroom is _really_ good about closing all connections when it is through with them, so you really shouldn't see an issue with this.

But you aren't getting a "too many connections" error:

Your mysql server crashed instead. Do you see any other errors like that? Having them just restart mysql should work...
