Is there a way to just have the admin blogs posted on the first page instead of just anyones ?

It should automatically only be the admin. If not, add band_id="0" to the jr_blog function

Just to clarify what Kyle said, just include the following in your homepage template -

Code
{jr_blog band_id="0" show="1" template="admin_homepage_blog.tpl"}

where "admin_homepage_blog.tpl" is another template that will probably be table for the message. Here's what I use -

Code
<table valign="top" class="Table1">
  <tr>
    <td colspan="2" width="100%" class="LHead">
      <b>&nbsp;LATEST SITE NEWS . . . .</b>
    </td>
  </tr>

{foreach from=$MESSAGES key=key item=msg}

  {if $msg.MESSAGE_SHOW == 'yes'}

  <tr>
    <td colspan="2" class="CHead">
      {$msg.MESSAGE_TITLE}&nbsp;
    </td>
  </tr>

  <tr>
    <td width="50%" class="LInfo">
      {if empty($msg.USER_EMAILADR)}
        Posted By: {$msg.USER_NICKNAME}
      {else}
        Posted By: <a href="mailto: {$msg.USER_EMAILADR|escape:"hex"}">{$msg.USER_NICKNAME}</a>
      {/if}
    </td>
    <td width="50%" class="RInfo">
      Posted On: {$msg.MESSAGE_TIME|jr_date_format:"date1"}&nbsp;
    </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="100%" colspan="2" class="CRow">
      {$msg.MESSAGE_TEXT|jr_strip_html|jr_safe_truncate:200} <a href="{$Jamroom_URL}/index.php?template=news.tpl">(Read More)</a>
    </td>
  </tr>

  {/if}

{/foreach}

</table>
