New Artist isn't showing on Artists page!

A new artist signed up for an account and they have a profile image uploaded and their private profile setting set on no but they are not showing up on the Artists page.

Do they have to have music uploaded to show up? I thought they just had to have an image?

Okay no you don't have to have music because I checked with another account, I added a artist profile image then they showed up on the Artist page. See look, this is the artist that signed up today,

http://mymusicrecords.com/youngbrazy13/

and as you can see here,

http://mymusicrecords.com/lists/artists

He is not on the list.

I checked his settings and he does not have a private profile, so why would it be doing this. He has validated his account and added an artist image.

Please help out Dave, this is messed up.

Do you think it has anything to do with that he has the artist account attached to a user account?

I even took this out of the artists.tpl page;

require_image=$smarty.config.require_image

and now it's showing all the bands except http://mymusicrecords.com/youngbrazy13/

Like I said to, his profile is not set to private

check that he is in quota 2
http://mymusicrecords.com/ranking.php?mode=artist&quota=2

If he is in a different quota, its possible that that quota is not allowed to be in the rankings.

According to the link you gave me he is not, but in the database he is in quota 2 and in the profiles browser in the admin panel he is in quota 2,

ID Quota Profile Name Theme Disk Bandwidth

27 2 youngbrazy13 Maestro 0 0 119.85 KB / 100 MB 0 B / UL

I just don't get it, I have compared all the database information with his account and the other artists accounts and his are exactly the same. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm just completely lost and what to check for. Also, why would he not be on the page link that you gave me even though he is in that quota? AAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHH

ok, so that is one thing checked and eliminated.

Its just a process. go through it step by step until you find what is different. Something is different.

Is it a new artist. do you have your quotas "Signup Activation Days" set to more days than that user has been a user.
(/jrconfig.php?mode=edit_quota&quota_id=2)

also check that in the "Ranking and Advanced Chart Settings"
/jrconfig.php?mode=detailed_settings&section=ranking

That the "New Profile Ignore Timer" is not set to a long length.

Then create a new profile and see if THAT shows up. keep eliminating until you find what is different about the profile in question.

Awesome Michael, thanks for trying to help me figure it out.

Okay the "Signup Activation Days" is set to 3 days and he just signed up today. The thing is though that he has already validated his account successfully and logged in, I know for sure because he even uploaded a user profile image.

There is another setting on that same "Ranking and Advanced Chart Settings" page that could effect it:
/jrconfig.php?mode=detailed_settings&section=ranking

Quote:
Show Admins : This setting controls whether or not the Master Admin and Admin Users will appear in the output of the Ranking System.

so check if that user is an admin user...

Okay that setting is set to not show admins, but he isn't an admin.

Tell me if you think this could have something to do with it.

I changed the signup page, see in Dave's Maestro skin when you click signup it opens a popup signup form, if you go here and click the signup button on the bottom of the page you will see what I'm talking about.

But alot of users could see the form so now I have it on a regular page,

http://mymusicrecords.com/index.php?t=sgnup

I used all of the exact same code, the only difference is that on the popup form, the "Signup" button is down through an Ajax call through Javascript through Maestro.js but on my signup for the "Signup" button is plain HTML.

But I don't know if that would be it because people can signup fine, I mean it works, they can signup, activate their account and login without a problem.

Well that can't be it either because I just signed up for a new artist account through the original popup signup form that I haven't made any changes to, uploaded a photo, private profile is set to no and it is still not showing up on the Artists page.

If your trying something from a custom skin that adds to the things you need to check.

try it from a standard skin see if you can reproduce it.

Also check your html code for errors:
http://mymusicrecords.com/index.php?t=sgnup

use firefox, hit ctrl+u and look at the source code for the page. there are red lines. this means errors. these could be related or perhaps not, but best to fix them either way.
