Auto play still not working for me.

Also, check out http://paulasher.com/?t=zzzz_fp
Here is the template -

Code
{jr_flash_player player_type="flowplayer" band_id="15" video_id="2"}
<br><br>
{jr_flash_player player_type="flowplayer" radio_id="1"}
<br><br>
{jr_flash_player player_type="jeroen" radio_id="1"}

Do you see the error on the 2nd player?
The 3rd player is the same station but with jeroen - that works OK.
I get the same error if I specify a single song.
Cheers
Pa

So how would one go about integrating this player directly?
This is the example 'first step' code from Flowplayer -

Code
<html>
<head>
   <title>Wow! This is video</title>
   <script src="path/to/the/flowplayer-3.2.6.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>

<a
   href="http://www.mywebsite.com/myVideo.flv"
   style="display:block;width:425px;height:300px;"
   id="player">
</a>

<script language="JavaScript">
   flowplayer("player", "path/to/the/flowplayer-3.2.7.swf");
</script>
</body>
</html>

How would that translate into a template?
Cheers
Pa

Thanks!

The module comes with FlowPlayer 3.2.7.

I've uploaded version 1.0.0b5 as well:

http://www.jamroom.net/index.php?m=td_market&o=browse&item_id=253

that fixes issues with radio stations and auto play.

Hope this helps!

Just wanted to say thank you for this. I really wanted to use Flowplayer for video and for some future stuff as well.

Also to help with some data for the beta module...

I haven't done a ton with it yet, but I can confirm that it works for single songs and videos with JR 4.2.3
and though I am not a fan of auto play, I can also confirm that the new release works with auto play & 4.2.3 as well.

Is there a way to display the "PLAY LIST" on the player screen? I checked the demo on the .flowplayer.org site.. I like it but I couldn't find the play list ( although it allows to go to prev/next )

You will need to reference the FlowPlayer site - the playlist is all done in Javascript, and is not supported by the module at this time.

Thanks!

If we decide to use JS to control play lists will we be able to access the music files that are within JR?

Brian,

I think the one plugin that would be very useful to every site based on JR would be:

http://flowplayer.org/plugins/flash/viralvideos.html

Don't know how tough that would be at this point, but it seems like for video, that would be a killer addition.

Thanks again for the mod and the work. I'm grateful.

Feel free to download and use any plugin you would like. I think it's important to know that with the number of plugins/add ons available for the Flow Player, we're not planning on including the addon functionality in the module - instead think of the module as a "base" for you to use the flow player from, and have it be licensed for your site.

Hope this helps!

So the answer to this is no than, correct? We can not use JS to control JR Play lists..?

I don't believe I ever said this - you can use JS to control the FlowPlayer. There are no limitations placed on the player because it is a Jamroom module - you can do whatever you would like with it - for JS playlists you'll want to check out the flow player site for examples.

Hope this helps!

I think it is cool to have the basic player and functionality as a module and that we can then do what we want.

The only issue I see that would make it seem a little more jr_friendly -- if you will -- is if it took the same image that other jr players take and use, including the auto one/screenshot when no artist uploads one. That would seem to make more sense, not just to owners of jr sites, but also to the artists that use them. If they see a screenshot image in their control panel when they create/modify a video, and then see their video and no image (if the first frame of their video is blank) they might think, huh...

Any ideas on how to make that work?

I messed around with the install of flowplayer bypassing the module. I got it running, but not with the urls correct. It needs the flv extension and I'm not sure what the direct link is, or the safe link I should say. Video id and band id is no problem, but it acts like it needs direct links with the flv extension. i know the php code for the mod has it, but ...

Is it possible to keep the module and do customizations to it just via the module?

Sometimes, with jr mods like this one, it is difficult to know how to edit them because the docs on the site say one thing, but then everything is running through jr and things are configured differently. Makes it very difficult to understand the possibilities, especially using the jr_flash_player call. And can you bypass that, still using the mod, but adding the container and all that stuff. I've gotten a lot of ideas by looking at the module, but still not quite sure what I'm doing.

I'd rather not bypass the actual module, but I'm not sure how to expand on it. I see that you can add the plugins in the mod and all that, but is the js playlist where you add other js features?

To expand on what I wrote earlier, I think it is a great and much needed module. Makes things feel a little more modern. Totally understand you guys not wanting to expand on it much. There is a lot. I do believe though it would be nice to add the splashscreen / video image to it. And the one other thing that seems to be missing. A loader. Otherwise, it's a blank page, especially with no image. I don't know where that goes myself because the directions talk about the div container, but the jr_flash_player etc.. does not allow for that unless I'm mistaken.

I think the 2 items (video_image) and a loader would make this a perfect, basic version of jr_FlowPlayer.

Then, maybe, just a few examples on how to customize a feature or two so that we all understand.

Jamroom is extremely powerful and I am constantly learning more and finding the possibilities are endless, but a little more help and documentation regarding some of the modules would be nice. Not saying to do custom stuff for us, but maybe, we could trade off some ideas on the more difficult ones... and this one is definitely more difficult Smile
