Installing a new Jamroom Theme

Installing a new Artist Theme into Jamroom is quite easy - just follow these simple steps:

  • Download the Artist Theme you would like to install to your local hard drive by clicking on the “download theme” button from the Jamroom “Get Themes” browser window.
  • Unzip the theme file you downloaded into a temporary directory - you will see a new directory that corresponds to the Theme Name (i.e. jm_cobalt) created in the temp directory.
    • It is highly recommended that you use a quality decompression program like 7-Zip (free) or Winzip .
  • Upload this DIRECTORY to the jamroom/themes directory so that the SAME directory name is created in the jamroom/themes directory. i.e.:
jamroom/themes/jm_cobalt
  • Make sure the themes "config.cfg.php" file is located directly in the theme directory - i.e.:
jamroom/themes/jm_colbat/config.cfg.php
  • Log into your Jamroom as the Master Administrator, go to the Admin Menu and choose “Install Theme”.
  • Select the new Artist Theme you just uploaded and press the “choose theme” button.

That’s It! Now your new Artist Theme should be available to you in the Jamroom Theme Browser.

Deleting an installed Jamroom Theme

Removing an Artist Theme from your Jamroom is easy - follow these simple steps:

  • From the Jamroom Admin Menu, select the “Remove Theme” option.
  • From the list of Artist Themes that appear, choose the Artist Theme you would like to remove and press “Choose Theme”.
  • You will be taken to the “Choose New Theme” screen where you must now pick a new theme. This new theme will be the theme that any artists who are currently using the Artist Theme you are about to remove will be moved to. Select the new theme.
  • Press the “Delete Theme” button to remove the Artist Theme from your Jamroom.

NOTE: This will NOT actually delete the theme from your server’s hard drive - instead the theme you just removed will now appear as a new theme to Jamroom, where you can re-install it again by following the “Installing a new Jamroom Theme” instructions above. If you want to completely remove the theme from your servers Hard Drive, log in via FTP and delete the theme’s directory in jamroom/themes.

You have successfully removed an Artist Theme from your Jamroom.
